Remote client 1.2.0 released

1.2.0 of the (Windows) remote client was released today. Below is a list of features. It is recommended that you completely uninstall the existing version and install this new version. This release has numerous code improvements, optimizations and cleanup. We also added a crash reporting utility which will allow you to send a crash report to our servers if the client misbehaves.

Note: Uninstalling will remove the DVR(s) connections you have saved. Be sure to have the login, password and IP addresses of any server(s) you are using.

Effective with this release configuration files will no longer be overwritten during upgrades unless the database schema changes.

Bugs:

  • Bug #26: Windows installer should not overwrite configuration files during reinstall or upgrade
  • Bug #45: Windows Remote Client playback crashes if multiple events are played at once
  • Bug #46: Quotes (single and double) are not escaped properly
  • Bug #64: Opening another event occasionally causes event viewer to crash
  • Bug #78: Sometimes event player doesn’t actually play the video
  • Bug #82: DVRSearch sometimes crashes on startup
  • Bug #94: Setup version numbers to start at 1.2.0
