This release focuses on several bugs, including a critical one where MJPEG feeds were flickering, duplicating other cameras feeds randomly and blacking out some of the screen.  While this release greatly reduces these occurrences, it may not be resolved for everyone.  If you still encounter problems, please let us know.  This release also addresses a bug where ‘ghosting’ (corrupt or dropped frames) would be seen during motion recording.

Several features have been added, including a utility to change the video layout on the display port and new sysfs files for debugging and status indications.

To upgrade to this release, run this command:

sudo apt-get update ; sudo apt-get install solo6010-dkms

The following features are added in this release:

Feature #31: Increase frame buffer size from 128k to 192k
Feature #30: Increase capture bandwidth for H.264 cards
Feature #29: Use ktime monotonic timer instead of do_gettimeofday
Feature #28: Update offsets used for SDRAM layouts
Feature #27:  Add new sysfs files and module parameters for debug and status
Feature #26:  Lower initial P2M DMA transaction timeout to 10ms
Feature #25:  Add utility to change inputs on the display device / composite output
Feature #20:  Support changing the display port layouts by ioctl() commands

The following bugs are resolved in this release:

Bug #17: Ghosting occurs during playback
Bug #16: bc-record error: ‘PKT_FLAG_KEY’ undeclared (first use in this function)
Bug #15: Input duplication caused by frequent recording start/stop
Bug #7: Flickering issues, feed duplication and random blackouts
Bug #3: DKMS package does not install on new kernels

Just a quick note to say I’ve been having woeful problems since the driver upgrade. Machine would either partially (xorg) or fully lock up, there was no indications of any problems in the bluecherry log, nor in the dmesg output. I’ve pulled the machien out of service and got time to look at it today. The machine will lose either connection or functionality of the server within 15 minutes of reboot, recording stops, clients enter error condtion e.t.c.
I rolled the driver back to the previous version and so far the machine has been running solidly for the best part of 90 mins now so it seems like that resolves the problem.

OK, I’ll file a bug report tomorrow (it’s dinner time here ) if you like, or I can put the solo back to 2.4.0-1 and you can connect and gather whatever info you need.

Just for info I’m running on an Intel i5 with Ubuntu 10.04lts with kernel 2.6.38-11-generic.

Let me know if there are any specific logs or config info you want me to grab.
