Bluecherry adds support for Grandstream surveillance IP / network cameras

Grandstream customers now have a Linux based recording application

December 1st, 2011 (Fulton, Missouri) — Bluecherry, a leader in Linux based video surveillance, is proud to announce full support for Grandstream surveillance cameras.

Bluecherry is a leader in the Linux surveillance market. Bluecherry develops a commercially supported Ubuntu application under the name ‘Bluecherry’ (www.bluecherrydvr.com). The Bluecherry DVR software is a Ubuntu Linux based surveillance application and is developed by its team of in-house developers.  The Bluecherry application supports both IP and analog cameras, and allows for quick and easy setup of supported network cameras.   Bluecherry supports live viewing from a web browser, and live viewing and playback of archived events from it’s cross platform application (Windows, Linux and OS X).  Bluecherry’s software is currently free to test and is in a public beta until the middle of January.  More information about Bluecherry can be found at www.bluecherrydvr.com/about.

“We approached Grandstream several months ago to inquire about adding support for their IP cameras in our software” says Curtis Hall, Bluecherry’s founder. “We are used to manufacturers giving us the run around and not being easy to deal with.  However we were pleasantly surprised to find out that was not the case with Grandstream.  We were given all of the technical documentation we needed very quickly and were able to support their line of cameras in our latest release.  We now have four Grandstream cameras in our office and we are impressed with their usability, functions and price point.  It has been a real pleasure to work with Grandstream and we expect to continue to add support for their cameras as new models roll out.”
