Home invasion caught by Bluecherry surveillance software

Elliott Holden was fortunate to be one of 850 beta testers for Bluecherry’s upcoming Linux-based surveillance system when he was the target of a home invasion in December.  Elliot wrote to us then, detailing how his cameras and the software recorded that break-in.  At the time, Elliot was using a Bluecherry MPEG-4 hardware compression card; he has since picked up a Bluecherry H.264 card to expand his security system.

Elliott sent over a video that CBS Atlanta (WGCL) ran yesterday afternoon, including his surveillance footage and interview. A suspect has yet to be identified, but his video clearly shows the two men.

Curtis Hall, founder of Bluecherry, said “It has always been our goal to develop software that is easy for the end-user to operate, and also software that can help law enforcement identify suspects so that arrests can be made.  Elliott has been a great beta tester, and his experience has provided crucial feedback to help shape our software.”
