[Server] Bleeding edge server versions available for download

Several customers have asked to try the latest bleeding edge version of the server.  We’ve been working hard on a 2.1.0 release.  We’ve optimized the code used to connect and stream from IP cameras which fixes several issues, including a critical bug where live and recorded feeds from high resolution IP cameras were corrupt and the video was completely unusable.

Debian installation issues with 2.0.2 should be completely fixed in the unstable versions.

For those that want to try the ‘bleeding edge’ server version you can follow the instructions below.  These packages are built several times a week and include the latest and greatest code changes.  While we try not to break things, it is recommended that you not use these packages on mission critical environments.  We currently do not have plans to send emails on new unstable releases, as we could release as many as seven releases a week, so make sure to check for updates using apt-get or synaptic.

If for some reason you do encounter a problem with the unstable packages, you can always revert to the stable release by running this command:

sudo apt-get install bluecherry=1:2.0.2-1

Note:  If you encounter problems with the unstable version please post a problem on our support forum.  Make sure to include the output of ‘dpkg -i bluecherry’ so we can see which version you are using.  These releases have debugging enabled on IP cameras which will generate alot of noise in the log files.

Copy and paste these commands into a terminal window for the ‘unstable’ packages:
